Who is Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev? What makes him a figure of growing importance in the spiritual and the mundane world alike? What makes so many regard him as a mystic, a self-realized master, a guru, a karma yogi, a mentor, a guide? What is his Isha Foundation – ‘a sacred space for self-transformation' -- all about? What does he have to offer to people? And just what exactly does he mean when he says, 'This life for me is to help people manifest their divinity'? Or for that matter when he says, 'Anyone who sits with me in openness, even for a single moment, cannot go untouched'? These are just some of the questions in the air ... In any case, most people find themselves a little perplexed by this yogi who spouts Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and offers a global model for Inclusive Economics in the same breath. So, we felt it was time to make as much information on Sadhguru as possible available in one place, so that conclusions about him can be just a little more informed. This portal is an attempt to capture the spirit and fragrance of this enigmatic person -- partly through his own words and images and partly through yours. As you browse through this site, do interact with us and share your own perspectives and join us on this quest of "Who is Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev?".
With love and gratitude, Isha Volunteers |

CNBC Reporter: So what’s the connection between economics and spirituality? Well, I met an interesting visitor last evening and he taught me a new phrase: fringe spirituality. His presence sure causes a stir. Speaking impeccable English and no Hindi at all, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is the founder of the Isha Foundation. The WEF Handbook describes him as a spiritual leader, supporting efforts to link spirituality and commerce. I didn’t look at the specialization when I asked him what brought him to the World Economic Forum. |

Question: What is ARR? Sadhguru: ARR. Action for Rural Rejuvenation is an attempt to engineer the social situations which have gone bad in such a way so that human beings can find a conducive atmosphere for themselves to blossom into. With the limited resources that are available in certain societies, how to make their life situations worthwhile, how they can find their full potential in whatever they are doing in their lives---that is the basic scope and aim of ARR, or the Action for Rural Rejuvenation project.
